With tonight’s evening performance of Mary Poppins, the show will go down in Broadway history as the 24th longest-running show. Opening on Nov. 16, 2006, the show was able to recoup its investment in just 52 weeks. It is the only show from the 2006-2007 season that is still running.

To slide into the 24th longest running show spot, Mary Poppins will surpass the 1977 production of Annie. In the 23rd and 22nd spot are The Producers and Avenue Q respectively. The number one spot holder is Phantom of the Opera which has played 10,193 as of July 29 since opening in 1988.

Mary Poppins currently stars Steffanie Leigh as the notorious nanny alongside Gavin Lee as Bert. The show was nominated for seven Tony Awards in 2006 and won for Best Scenic Design. Including tonight’s performances, it will have played 2,381 performances.
