Matthew Saldivar Joins Cast of Peter and the Starcatcher

Matthew Saldivar will stepĀ  on the roll of Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher starting tonight. He takes over the role from Christian Borle who won a Tony for his performance. Peter and the Starcatcher is currently running at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

Saldivar has been performing on Broadway since 2006. He started his career on the Great White Way in The Wedding Singer. He then moved on to Grease followed most recently by A Streetcar Named Desire. Besides stage acting, Saldivar has also tackled television with small roles in over five different shows.

A wildly theatrical, hilarious and innovative retelling of how a miserable orphan came to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old legend of Peter Pan. Based on the best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatcher is directed by Tony Award-winning actor Roger Rees and Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers and written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice. A play for all ages, Peter and the Starcatcher was nominated for nine Tony’s, ultimately winning five.
