Mike Tyson Will Perform His One-Man-Show On Broadway
Beginning July 31, Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will perform his one-man-show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truths on Broadway for six performances. The show is directed by Spike Lee, and the show’s opening will mark his Broadway debut. Undisputed Truths premiered in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand and covers Tyson’s highs but also his struggles , such as his alcoholic mother, his own battle with addiction and the domestic abuse and rape charges he faced.
Tyson has said that the show is meant to show his life and career in a more positive light. Both Tyson and Lee have said that Tyson will be honest yet vulnerable while on stage.
“I have to be careful because I can’t stay on some subjects for a long time. I can’t stay … for a long time because I might cry, something might happen,” said Tyson.
Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truths is the one chance for any fan to see Tyson in a completely different setting. A new generation of theatergoers will also be able to see the athlete in what is sure to be his most raw performance.
